Teach or Volunteer

If you would like to be a teacher (meaning, you have a skill to be taught or a fun project idea to share) please fill out our application and join in on the fun. 
High School students that can demonstrate maturity, responsibility, and composure are welcome to volunteer to teach a K-6th grade class or be a tutor. 

 

Our classes/programs will run with these parameters in mind:
 Terms: Fall, Winter and Spring. Each term will be slightly different depending on the season. A full term will generally be 10-12 weeks and you could teach half term (5/6 week duration) or full term (10/12 week duration). 
Time Frame: Classes will generally be offered in 50 minute increments; 2-3 hour programs; or One time Special Guest/Activity classes.
Age Groups: Kindergarten-2nd Grade or Ages 5-9; 3rd-6th Grade or Ages 9-12; 7-9th Grade or Ages 12-15; 10th-12th Grade or Ages 15-18; Adults 18 and older.
What might this look like? Here are a few considerations to start with:
  • You may offer your class for the same age or different age ranges as many times throughout the day (and eventually throughout the week) that you’d like.
  • Teach just one class a day or six, your schedule is up to you.

Compensation

College and High School Volunteers/Mentors: Thank you so much for your generosity of time. We are happy to document the time and hours you have contributed and provide you with a Recommendation Letter or Letter of Evaluation to go towards your own future pursuits. 

Teachers: You will earn $4.00 out of the $5.00 fee per participant per class. You are welcome to add an additional fee to cover the costs of materials, however, keep in mind our campus is designed to be affordable and flexible so please ask for a fee that is respectable for both you and the participant.

The more you promote your class, the more potential participants you will get and therefore the more you will earn.

You may offer your class for the same age or different age ranges as many times throughout the day (and eventually throughout the week) that you’d like. Teach just one class a day or six, your schedule is up to you. (Dependent upon classroom availability).

  • Share your final lesson plan overview with the staff you’re directed to do so with  and confirm your commitment. Once approved your class will be put on the schedule and be eligible for enrollment.
